Mr Rodrigue Landu

Senior Solicitor

Rodrigue is immensely experienced in criminal law and well versed in employment law and immigration. He is an accredited criminal defence duty solicitor, able to advise and represent clients suspected of crime or charged with a criminal offence across England and Wales.

He is particularly knowledgeable and highly skilled in defending motoring offences, and regularly — and very often successfully — represents drivers at special reasons and exceptional hardship applications.

Alongside his criminal practice, Rodrigue runs a strong employment law practice, advising individuals and businesses across a wide range of employment matters and representing clients before the employment tribunal and the civil courts. He also advises on UK immigration visa applications and appeals.

In addition to his own client practice, Rodrigue regularly acts as an agent for other law firms at interviews under caution, and at court and tribunal hearings.

Who we are

We pride ourselves on providing the expert advice and the bold representation our clients need. We approach every case with the commitment to achieve the best outcome available — whether that is a police station interview at three in the morning, a contested hearing in the Crown Court, or a visa application that has to be right first time.

The three areas we work in — criminal defence, immigration and employment — have one thing in common. People come to us at a point where something important is at stake: their liberty, their right to remain, or their livelihood. That shapes how we work. We explain things plainly, we tell you what we think rather than what is comfortable, and we are contactable when it matters.

How we work

You get a straight answer

We will tell you early what we think the realistic outcomes are, including the ones you may not want to hear. You cannot make good decisions on optimistic advice.

You know the cost before we start

Wherever the work allows it we quote a fixed fee. Where a matter genuinely cannot be fixed-priced, we explain why and agree the basis in writing before any work begins.

You deal with the person handling your case

We are a small practice by design. The person who advises you at the outset is the person who prepares your case and represents you.

We are available every day

Police stations do not keep office hours and neither do we. If your matter is urgent, call — we would rather hear from you early than after a decision has been made.

Agency cover for other firms

We act as agents for other solicitors, covering police station attendances, court hearings and tribunal hearings. We cover Manchester, the North West and further afield subject to reasonable travel disbursements being agreed in advance.

If you are a firm looking for reliable cover at short notice, get in touch and we will confirm availability and terms. We are used to picking up files at short notice and to reporting back promptly and in the format you need.

  • Police station attendances, including out of hours
  • Magistrates’ court and Crown Court hearings
  • Employment tribunal and immigration tribunal hearings
  • Clear written report back after every attendance
